Vendor Information and Requirements:

PRODUCERS ONLY
All products must be handmade, homegrown, or homemade in the Virginia Region. If you sell items produced or made by another person or entity, you must know the producer or maker personally and represent to the public the fact that you did not produce or make such item.

PRODUCER’S TAG
Is free to any vendor selling items that they produced or made themselves. The Petersburg Commissioner of Revenue requires that all vendors have either a Producer’s Tag or a Petersburg Business License to vend in Petersburg. The Producer’s Tag can be obtained at the Petersburg Commission of Revenue Office. Contact the Commissioner of Revenue, Pamela C. Hairston to receive more information on Producer’s Tags and Business Licenses and to apply for each:

PETERSBURG BUSINESS LICENSE
A Petersburg Business License can be obtained from the Commissioner of Revenue’s Office and costs $50. If a vendor is not eligible for a Producer’s Tag, a vendor must have a Petersburg Business License regardless of whether or not the vendor has a business license in another jurisdiction. **Artists do not need a special permit. (Please contact the Petersburg Department of Commerce to determine if you qualify as an artist).

MARKET FEES:

______ 10×10 vendor booth (Part-Time or Pay-As-You-Go): Weekly fee is $15 per booth space for Part-Time Vendors (You must circle the dates above that you wish to attend) (Multiple spaces will be placed side by side)

______ 10×10 vendor booth (Full-Time or Pre-Pay): For vendors committing to at least 13 Market Days, Pre-Payment of $130-$260 is available at a weekly fee of $10 (You must circle the dates above that you wish to attend).Vendors are given the choice to Pre-Pay half the season at a time, the full season, or part of the season but at least for 13 Market Days.

WEEKLY FEE PAYMENT SCHEDULE

Weekly Payments must be submitted to the Market Manager in cash or check in an envelope marked with Vendor Name. Managers will collect the fees during morning set-up. Bounced checks will incur an additional $35 fee. If payment is not made to the market manager during Market day, the vendor will not be permitted to vend the following given Market Day. Pre-Payment is encouraged for those vendors planning on attending at least 13 Market Days (see above).

Payment should be in an envelope with your name and business name CLEARLY written on the outside. Please add your business/vending as name to the memo section of your check if it is not already printed elsewhere.

VENDOR ARRANGEMENTS/BOOTH ASSIGNMENTS

The Market Manager will make space assignments each week.

  1. Vendor spaces are assigned according to availability, selling history, and retail considerations.
  2. Notification: If a vendor finds that they will be absent from a Saturday Market, an email must be sent to the Market Manager by Wednesday at 12 noon or the Vendor may be suspended from future Market participation.
  3. Each vending space is 10×10. Most spaces will allow a 19 foot car to park behind the vending space.   If your vehicle does not fit, you will have to park outside of the market.
